So last last week, I received an email from my client about a company that was telling them that they have all these online directories or citations or listings that they’re on and maybe the address is wrong or the business name is wrong. Or some of the listings show that they weren’t on these other platforms. And this company was saying that they could help them get on all these different platforms using their monthly service.
But listings are or citations or online directories are a place where your business information is stored. Like for instance, the Yellow Pages, back in the days they would deliver that book and you have all these different businesses in this book. That’s what basically it is, but online. So, like Yelp, the white pages, yellow pages, merchant circle, they’re all different directories online that you go on to find different businesses. It’s part of the, for your business to be on there, because this is just another place where someone could find you. And it’s also some say it helps Google, Google maps, helps build your local reputation or local SEO. So it it’s good to be on there cause you never know who’s using it and it just helps. So, what I tell my client is you don’t have to pay a monthly fee or monthly whatever to do this every single month. Just pay a company one time to put you on all the different listings or if you can’t do it yourself. If you it do yourself, go on there and send it for each one, you could find a list online of all the different directors are out there and just do it yourself. Or if you’re picking up office, have your assistant or someone else do it for you. All you really do is need to pay a one-time service fee and get listed on the hundreds of citations or online listings out there.
